NAB 2008

Well, it’s only 3 days until the big show, and I thought it was about time to start the plan of attack for this year’s exhibits. As you probably know, the two big booths that often take much of my time at this yearly event won’t even be present this year, so I should have a bit of extra exploration time.

David’s gotta stay in OKC and slave away on some projects for a new client (more on that later), so it’ll just be my better half and I (and for those of you keeping track, yes, we did just get back from Vegas in February!) We’ll be at the timeshare again, so those of you that are also going this year (Kathy, Rod, Angela, etc.) please feel free to drop by if you’re “in the neighborhood.”

At this point, there’s only one thing I know I’ll buy – one of these nifty KB Covers for our new MacBook Pro, which will be making its maiden voyage on this trip. (more…)

Moore, OK Warren Theatre

The Moore Warren seems to be all about the movie-going experience, starting with the gloved doorman who greets you as you enter the 3-story lobby w/a reported $1,000,000 USD in imported marble (and another million in neon!) There’s “real butter” on your popcorn for an extra 50 cents, and no advertising (save the traditional movie previews.) The curtains actually rise to reveal the high-gain screens, the largest of which are 80-ft, 4-stories. The sound is Digital THX in each of the 14 theaters, and the whole place uses Christie 2K projectors – not a frame of film in sight!
